Speak As The Oracles of God
(Roger Campbell) (shared by Tasha on Jan. 10, 2020 in Kaohsiung)
- Point out “standards” in daily life
- Need for an objective standard in religion
- Some unsafe standards:
- Personal thoughts/opinion (Prov. 14:12)
- Feelings (Acts 26:9-11)
- Conscience (Acts 23:1)
- Tradition (Mark 7:6-9)
- The majority (Matt. 7:13-14; 1 Pet. 3:20)
- We need the truth (John 8:32, 7:17)
- Bible is sufficient (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
- Should we still follow the O.T.?
- Law of Moses given only to Israel (Ex. 19:1, 2; 20:1-17; Deu. 5:1-4)
- O.T. does not take effect now (Eph. 2:2-16; Col. 2:14; Heb. 10:9)
- If you keep part, keep all (Gal. 5:2-3)
- Follow N.T. — the teaching of Christ (Matt. 17:5; 28:8-20)
- Gospel = power of God (Rom. 1:16)
- God calls via gospel (2 Thess. 2:13, 14)
- What differences between O.T. & N.T.? (Given examples.)
- Completely follow only the Bible (1 Pet. 4:11; 2 John 9)
- No right to change God’s message (Deut. 4:2; Gal. 1:6-8; Rev. 22:18, 19)
