The Existence of God

Notes from a Thursday Bible study with brother E.B. These notes are my personal summary for study and sharing. The Existence of God This outline summarizes several classical arguments that help us understand why belief in God is reasonable and coherent. ———————————————— 1. The First Truth  第一真理 God is Spirit, infinite and perfect: the source, support, and end of all things. Scripture reminds us that all things come from Him, exist through Him, and return to Him (Romans 11:36). Because God is Spirit (John 4:24), He is not limited by the physical world. God is therefore the ultimate first truth. A true first truth must satisfy three tests: It must apply to all reality and not only to a limited situation. It must be necess...

The Spiritual Ledger (Php 4:17)

(腓立比書 4:17) Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek the fruit that increases to your account. Paul’s True Concern Is the Fruit This verse appears in Paul’s thanksgiving for the Philippians’ gift. Yet Paul carefully clarifies that his concern is not for his own need. What truly matters to him is the growing spiritual fruit in the believers’ lives. Giving and the Spiritual Accounting 「果子漸漸增多」與「歸在你們的帳上」都是帶有記帳意味的商業用語。 “Fruit that increases” and “credited to your account” are both terms drawn from financial accounting. Paul uses this familiar language to describe a spiritual reality. Giving is not a one-way loss, but something remembered and accumulated before God. Fruit Is Not a Transaction This is not merit-earning, no...

There Is No Promised Land Today

Based on an English article (E.B.) Title: There Is No Promised Land Today Many people connect modern political Israel with the “promised land” mentioned in the Bible, especially when conflicts occur in the Middle East. Whenever war breaks out in that region, speculation about biblical prophecy often increases. However, many of these ideas come from misunderstandings of Scripture rather than from careful reading of the Bible itself. In the Old Testament, God promised Abraham that his descendants would receive the land of Canaan (Genesis 12:7; 15:18). Some people believe that this promise has never been completely fulfilled and still applies to the modern nation of Israel today. However, the Bible itself states that the promise was fulfilled when the Israelites entered and possessed the land.

Wrong Attitudes Toward Evangelism

Thinking that not every Christian needs to preach the gospel 大使命是給所有門徒的命令(太28:19–20) The Great Commission was given to all disciples (Matthew 28:19–20) 基督徒應當結果子並分享福音(羅1:13–15) Christians are expected to bear fruit and share the gospel (Romans 1:13–15) 如果前人不傳福音,我們今天也不會聽見福音 If earlier believers had not shared the gospel, we would never have heard it ──────────────────────── 二、認為傳福音不是我的恩賜 Thinking evangelism is not my gift Evangelism is sharing truth through life and words, not a special skill 神給信徒不同恩賜,但人人都要參與事奉(羅12:6–8) God gives different gifts, yet all believers are called to serve (Romans 12:6–8) 恩賜是為建立基督的身體(弗4:7–12) Spiritual gifts are given to build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:7–12) ──────────────────────── 三、認為自己沒有足夠的聖經知識 Thinking one lacks enough Bible knowledge 有些人因為對聖經不熟悉而不敢傳福音 Some hesitate to evangelize because they feel unfamiliar with Scripture One of the best ways to learn Scripture is by teaching others

Why Does God Allow Suffering in the World?

圖片
前言(先把方向定準) This is the framing (so we don’t get lost). This question should not be handled with a one-liner; Scripture gives direction rooted in God’s nature, human responsibility, and eternal hope. Reason 1: God granted human free will, so He allows real consequences of real choices. God did not create robots; without genuine choice there can be no genuine love and obedience. The cost of freedom is that humans may choose rebellion; sin enters and brings destruction, pain, disease, and death. Allowing consequences is not cruelty; it is the necessary counterpart of real freedom—otherwise “freedom” is counterfeit. 來源 Sources: https://apologeticspress.org/why-does-god-allow-diseases-to-occur-3367/ ht...
