2 Tim 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves
(KJV) In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
(ASV) in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth,
T.A.
We try to instruct others with a kind and humble manner. We should not be harsh and overbearing. We should not be puffed up in our knowledge . Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth(1Corinthians 8:1-3). We should not act like "I am the great teacher and you are the poor ignorant student. If we know the Bible we should humbly try to teach others. Notice how God doesn't upbraid those that ask for wisdom (James 1:5).
(KJV) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
(ASV) But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
