I. What the Unpardonable Sin Is 什麼是不可赦免的罪

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the only sin described in the Bible as unpardonable or eternal.

Jesus stated that every sin can be forgiven—except this one.

Blasphemy means “speaking evil of,” and in this case, it was a sin of speech committed by the Pharisees.

II. What the Pharisees Did 法利賽人做了什麼

Jesus cast out demons by the Spirit of God (Matthew 12:28).

The Pharisees could not deny the miracle, so they claimed He did it by the power of Satan.

They attributed the work of the Holy Spirit to the devil.

This specific act is what Jesus identified as blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

III. Is It the Same as “Sin Unto Death”? 是否等同於「至於死的罪」

Some connect this sin with “the sin leading to death” in 1 John 5:16–17.

有人把這個罪與約翰一書的「至於死的罪」連在一起。

However, there is no biblical evidence supporting that connection.

但聖經並沒有支持這種連結。

In 1 John, all sins can be forgiven if one confesses and repents (1 John 1:9).

The “sin unto death” refers to a refusal to repent—not a specific unforgivable act.

IV. Can This Sin Be Committed Today? 今天還可能犯這個罪嗎

The evidence suggests that this sin cannot be committed today.

First, the original situation required witnessing Jesus performing miracles directly.

That condition no longer exists today.

Second, no New Testament writer after the resurrection warns about this sin.

If it were still possible, there would be clear warnings.

V. Conclusion 結論

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit was a specific sin committed in a unique historical context.

There is no evidence that it can be committed today.
