1 Sam. 14 - Jonathan‘s faith
1Sa 14:6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.
Jonathan had faith in the power of God, being fully persuaded that He could do everything, whether by many or by few. And he knew it had to start with someone; and that someone might as well be him and his armour bearer.
Brethren, the church needs people like Jonathan. Jonathan knew the need was great. He saw Israel was already hopelessly outnumbered and demoralized. He saw the fear in the eyes of his people. So, he didn’t wait for the calling; he volunteered the call.
Can you see the needs in the church which you are a member of? What are you waiting for? The first-century Christians didn’t wait for a gospel meeting to do evangelism. They didn’t need a program for a reason to do God’s work. What about you? Why not volunteered the call?
