1Sa 11:1  Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.

There are so many today who are just like the men of Jabesh-Gilead: they would settle for peace at all cost. They would rather settle for lies than change their denominations. They ask why all the fuss about baptism, Holy Spirit, AD 70 doctrine, marriage-divorce- remarriage issues, and musical instruments. They ask can’t we sit down and worship together without arguing about doctrines.

Brethren, listen to what the Lord has to say on this: “There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked” (Isaiah 48:22; 57:21). God said it twice there is no peace to the wicked. If God will not make peace with the wicked, is it right for us to worship in peace with them? Isaiah wrote: “The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace” (Isaiah 59:8).
