Worth the Wait|

This is a personal reflection by Joyce,

Last night Pang and I talked again.
He still thinks it is not a sin to date a non-Christian, though it is unwise.

His point is this:
Even a Christian can be ungodly,
and an unbeliever may be moving toward becoming a good Christian.
So whether to marry a Christian or not
should be judged case by case.

However, there are at least two things to consider.

────────────────────
【1】Wait for Obedience, Not Potential

If we truly have faith in God,
shouldn’t we wait until we see the person obey the truth?
Why risk a relationship
based on the hope
that “one day”
he or she might change
through my “good behavior” in marriage?
Faith does not gamble.

────────────────────
【2】Choosing Early May Reveal Weak Faith

If we choose to date or marry an unbeliever
instead of waiting for the Lord’s provision,
we may be showing the world
that our faith in God is insufficient.
Perhaps that is why
the person does not see our example clearly,
and is not moved to obey the gospel.

────────────────────
2 Corinthians 6:14–18
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…”
“What fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness?”
“What communion has light with darkness?”
“What agreement has Christ with Belial?”
“What part has a believer with an unbeliever?”
“Come out from among them and be separate…”
“I will be your Father…”

────────────────────
Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
“Stop striving…” (NASB)
Faith is not rushing.
Faith is being still.
