The Relationship Between Present Sufferings and Future Glory

I didn’t answer one of the midterm questions in 2 Corinthians very well, so I’m correcting it here and sharing the clearer explanation with you.

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed to us.”

— Romans 8:18 (NASB95)

Paul reminds us that present struggles are real, but they belong only to this passing life.

They cannot outweigh the glory God has prepared.

He also writes, “For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.”

God does not waste what we walk through.

He uses it to refine our character, strengthen our trust, and prepare us for what He has promised.

In the end, that glory is the reward of His kingdom—an eternal and unchanging good.

It is the place where everything finally makes sense.
